Simon Says Stamp - Monday Challenge: Summer

Best Wishes

At Simon Says Stamp the Monday Challenge theme is 'Summer'. Apart from the green nature and the clear blue sky the summer means weddings to me. It is the season that most people are getting married here in Sweden. So are the friends of my friend so I made yet another wedding card for her to chose from!

I love this elegant pearlescent envelope!

This card I used comes with a pearlescent envelope so I used some pearlescent papers on the card as well. I die-cutted a pattern on the pearlescent strip of paper and attached some butterflies in different pearlescent colors. I stamped and embossed a greeting on a piece of pergament paper and glued two sequins on it.A very simple card but yet elegant.

En Liten Butiks juniutmaning

Congratulations!

Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge

Wedding card in white

I decided to join the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge with another wedding card of the collection of cards (!) I made for my friend. The challenge is 'Anything goes'.

White on White

I really like this card and envelope set from Panduro. The envelope is pearlescent. Very wedding! The two butterflies are also pearlescent in two different colors, one matches the envelope and the other one is more yellow (champagne).
A have added more glitter to the charm since I wanted the whole card to sparkle.

DaliART - Colour of the Month challenge - June

I am in love with butterflies at the moment!

In DaliART's Colour of the Month challenge you are supposed create something in light purple. Easy peasy! I love light purple!

I decided to make a few more wedding cards for my friend to chose from, so I made another wedding card. Wedding cards that are in just one colour are very striking, I think.
I am in love with all theses stitched dies that are so popular right now, but I haven't afforded one yet. I was thrilled when I found some stiched dies in an old set I've got by Quickutz!

In this card I have die-cutted some flowers in the actual card, used a stiched die to make a pattern and on top of it all I glued die-cutted butterflies. The charm looked very plain so I added some extra glitter to it.

Take It Make It challenge - June

My entry for the TIMI challenge

The Take It Make It challenge in June is about a technique, and the technique is 'Texture'.

A few issues ago in Craft Stamper there was an article I really liked: Journal Your Heart Out by Magda Polakow (Craft Stamper May p. 56). I had to try it straight away! The author went through her bin for scrap pieces of paper and fabric which she glued onto a heavy paper with gel medium. She covered it all with a thick layer of gesso. Finally she smeared Gelatos over it and added some Crackle Glaze to a few areas. I stopped after a thin layer of gesso as I wanted the papers to show through a bit. I also wanted the background white.

My husband wanted me to make a card for a co-worker of his who is retirering after 42 years in the same company. I wanted to keep the card quite simple and quite manly, so I figured a piece of this background, a bit of stamping and a charm would be plenty.

42 years of work!
(That is my whole life minus one year!)

Close-up of Crackle Paint

I cut a panel from the the background and distressed the edges with Black Soot. I stamped the number 42 and coloured it with a Distress Marker and added some Distress Crackle Paint over it. Unfortunately the green on the paper beneath it reacted with the Crackle Paint and it got very green.
I added some Distress Paint and some splashes of Distress Stains randomly over the mint green card. Then I stamped different office related stuff directly to the card since my husband and his co-worker work in an office. Finally I added the bike charm since the co-worker likes biking a lot.

Hobbyworld's challenge in June

Mikael & Anna 2015-07-04

My friend asked me to make a wedding card for a friend of hers who is getting married in July. I found a challenge at Hobbyworld with the theme: 'anything goes', so I decided to join the challenge with this card.

The backgound is inspired by a technique in Craftstamper. I glued different papers and shapes on to  a heavy paper with gel medium and then I covered it all with a layer of gesso. I added a die-cutted tree and painted the birds and hearts with Twinkling H2O's. Finally I added baker's twine and a heartshaped charm.

Craft Stamper is looking for reader submissions for their Ready, Set, Stamp feature for the October issue. I relly liked the theme and the colors so I decided to have a go.

I found an old stationary I have kept to make cards from which I think suited this theme. I'm also in love with these cute birds from Lawn Fawn so I decided to use them as well. I think I use them on everything at the moment!

The card was really quick to make. I wanted the card CAS but in order to get some structure and layers I cut a panel from the same paper and distressed the edges a bit. The same with the banner with the text. I added gold foil on the text to get it extra sparkling.
The birds and the heart were stamped on a scrap piece of paper and then cut out. I coloured them with ProMarkers and then I added 3D Glaze and fun flock. I tried to get the glitter in the fun flock all over the bird but the fun flock itself just on the chest. I stamped the birds directly on the card and glued the cut out bird on top to get an extra bit of dimension.

You color my world!

Scrap och Tings juniutmaning!

Don't let anyone steal your shine!

Scrap Africa - Sketch Challenge no. 52

You are My Star!

I found an interesting sketch challenge at Scrap Africa and decided to have a go. I saw the grey pattern, the chevron, the film strip and the "photos" in the sketch. I knew I had grey cards and grey envelopes so I wanted to create something in different shades of grey with a splash of color. It was also fun to make the fake polaroid photos I made a while ago so I wanted to make some more.  I really liked how the cards turned out with all the layers!

The sketch

I started by stamping different patterns in the background with different greyish inks. I embossed the chevron stamp with my absolute favourite embossing powder of them all - Suze Weinbergs UTEE: platinum. I love the effekt it gives! Then I added a diecutted chevron (I actually think it's a photo corner but when you put them in a row it looks like a chevron pattern) and a diecutted star. When I added the star I came to think of the glow-in-the-dark stars that were popular to put in the ceiling  of children's rooms a while ago. So I just had to get some! I really love that pale green color! And I thought it would look good together with the green in my fake polaroid photo. Finally, I added a film strip, a text made with my dymo and some staplers.

I just love this little bird!

Gummiapan - utmaning #1

The sky is the limit
